Hi Geoff

It is with sad that I must report the death of Ian Macpherson, from Scotland but with family connections in Melbourne. Ian was a member of the ICAA in the late eighties and early nineties, taking part in several Australian Championships.

Seth and I became close friends with Ian and Christine during the Steinhudermeer World Series in Germany in 1990.

At home Ian sailed on Loch Lomond, also home to a number of beautifully built timber IC’s from the later 19th century, stored in the loft of the club building.

A lecturer in Industrial Design, Ian added appreciation of aesthetics to the Australian fleet. Ian’s and Christine’s social contribution to our group was welcome and considerable.

He will be missed.
